NOWSHERA: Head of Taliban negotiation committee Maulana Samiul Haq has said that they would expedite efforts to bring the government and Taliban to the table as the latter refused to extend ceasefire. He called upon both sides to observe restraint in the prevailing situation.

“I want to save the situation from worsening further after Taliban announced not to extend the ceasefire,” Maulana Sami said while talking to mediapersons at Akora Khattak on Thursday. He expressed satisfaction over the decision of Taliban to continue the ongoing process of negotiation.

Maulana Sami said that ups and downs, delay, disagreements and complaints were a part of dialogue process. “It is need of the time that both sides show patience and tolerance,” he said.

He said that efforts were being made for extension in the ceasefire besides progress on other matters.
