LAHORE: The Lahore High Court complaint cell took on Wednesday notice of an acid attack on a woman lecturer in the city.

The cell directed the district and sessions judge of Lahore to look into the matter and submit a report regarding the measures taken by police along with his own comments within a week.

The victim had filed an application to the complaint cell.

Three men, riding two motorcycles, had thrown acid on her near her home in PCSIR Housing Society.

Police said the victim had hired a rickshaw from University of Management Technology and was entering her home when they threw a polythene bag filled with concentrated acid at her. Police said the bag hit the door and only a small amount of the acid fell on her face.

The woman was taken to Jinnah Hospital by a Rescue 1122 team where doctors said that 20 per cent of her face and eyes had been affected.

The father of the victim submitted a complaint with the Sattukatla police without nominating any one.
